About Martín

I am a Theoretical Quantum Chemist exploring the properties of cutting-edge semiconductors, transition metal complexes, and quantum information systems, from theory, computational, and algorithmic perspectives. I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Montana State University, Bozeman.

Prior to mid 2020, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry at Northwestern University, advised by Profs. George Schatz and Mark Ratner. Research topics: energy and materials science, electronic structure theory, quantum spectroscopy, and semiconductors. PhD degree in Chemistry, received in Dec. 2014 from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. Advisor: Prof. Adam Wasserman. We worked at Purdue on extending the range of applicability of quantum embedding methods. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad del Valle, Colombia.
